Dr. Klemm received her B.S. with Honors in Chemistry from Trinity College [Hartford, CT] in 2009 and her Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley in 2012.
She is an active member of the hunter/jumper community, owning a fleet of lease ponies and showing her horse MTM Sandwich in adult hunter divisions.
Piper began her tenure as the Publisher of The Plaid Horse Magazine in 2014 and pursues her commitment to education by teaching college courses on equestrian entrepreneurship at Clarkson University.
Meghan Marinos has been working in education for over a decade now. She has worked in both public and private schools. She has a Master’s Degree in Teaching and has taught a variety of learners. When she moved to New York City, she served as the Academic Director of a private school in Brooklyn. When the opportunity arose, she moved closer to her hometown of Frederick, Maryland to open a brand new private school in Northern Virginia. Always up for a new challenge, Meghan researched new opportunities in education and found ICL Academy. She was inspired by the founder’s mission and quickly jumped to be a part of this revolutionary school. She truly believes that students learn best when the instruction is tailored to their interests and passions. When Meghan is not working she is spending time outdoors with her family including her husband and her twin boys. She loves good food, cooking and laughing with friends and family.
Ethan Lin is the Chief Operating Officer at ICL Academy. Ethan started his career as a high school math teacher with Teach For America. Following that, he has worked in a variety of roles in education including management consultant to state education chiefs, policy and data wonk, advocate for equitable education, and tech startup executive.
Previously, Ethan served as General Manager at Cialfo, an Education Technology startup. In addition, he was a founding member of ZeeMee, a Silicon Valley-based startup, where he was responsible for operations, finance, and managing relationships with thousands of schools and districts to transform the college application process.
Traci and Carleton Brooks of Balmoral Farm have a lifetime of experience with horses, an extensive teaching and training background and a keen ability to match horses and riders to produce results. Together they’ve trained and produced numerous National Champion riders and horses from the ground up.
Carleton Brooks, best known as “CB”, is one of the most respected and recognized horsemen in the country, awarded the USHJA Lifetime Achievement Award. His successful career spans three decades coaching, judging, training, riding and competing at the highest level. Carleton has received many honors, including Leading Hunter Rider at The National Horse Show, a four-time winner of the Pacific Horse Shows Association Don Tipton Award, and the Arthur B. Hawkins Award for Excellence in Horse Sport.
Carleton and Traci also serve on numerous boards and committees, helping guide and shape the sport fo the next generation. Traci is an active Board member of the USHJA National Hunter Derby Task Force and the Board of USEF Zone 10. Carleton served on the Board of The Pacific Coast Horse Shows Association for 11 years.
